The Communication Breakdown Structure of Enterprise Information System Project(Communication Management Research Group Activity Reports - Part 5,<Special Issue>Study groups on The Society of Project Management)

Abstract

The work breakdown structure(WBS) of enterprise information project is generally defined based on the work volume of each project member. On the contrary, that of engineering project is defined based on the bill of material, being an expression on mechanical structure of the concerned system. Therefore, if the WBS of enterprise information project is defined similarly to that of the engineering project, furthermore If other breakdown structures, such as breakdown structures of organization of owner, contractor and subcontractor, communications within and across organizations, and execution monitoring and control, i.e. the whole project based on the WBS, it is considered bringing more effective management of the concerned project.
