Abstract
In the vacuum system of pneumatic conveying, the authors have proposed, that a suction nozzle equipped with an injection pipe at the center, would provide a highly-dense and highly-efficient method of transporting a powder. In this paper, we examine the effect of suction velocity in suction nozzle. As a result, it was found that as the suction velocity increases, an operating range becomes smaller, although the change has negligibly small effect on the nozzle performance. An optimum condition was suggested by varying geometrical conditions. These powders behaviors were considered qualitatively with a relation of powder inflow between an injection pipe and a suction nozzle through the powder flow visualization.
