Abstract
In the previous paper, we studied the method to improve the compactness and smoothness of granules produced by the fluidized bed granulating method. As results, it was found that compactness and smoothness were promoted when spraying and the agitating were mutually repeated, in the process of spraying.
In this paper, the effect of crushing and plastic deformation, both by agitating, on the compactness and smoothness of granules were compared. The following results were obtained.
1. The plastic deformation of granules by agitating was more effective than the crushing of granules by agitating, to promote the compactness and smoothness of granules.
2. Considering the above findings, the most suitable sequence of fluidiaed bed granulating was the one composed of spraying, pre-drying, agitating and drying.
3. To promote the growth of particles by the use of this sequence, it was found that the method of repetition and gradually increasing the feed-rate of spraying solution was very effective.
