Closed Captioning (CC), converting audio information into subtitles - visual information, ensures accessibility of information for the hearing impaired. CC is also useful for elderly people, who is losing hearing capability. However, few academic studies on CC specially for elderly people are found. In addition, the Japanese standard of CC has various problems. For instance, the old standard based on the analog broadcasting has still been generally used while TV broadcasting is already shifted to digital. In this research, authors propose some models of CC specially for elderly people through comparison with the current Japanese standard CC.
