Optimized design of surface science experiments with machine learning

Abstract

Various methods are used for the measurements in surface science. However, many parameters (measurement time and measurement points, etc.) used in these measurements are often determined based on the experience and intuition of experts. We performed the research on the optimization of surface science measurement method using machine learning. In the talk, we discuss the optimization of X-ray absorption spectrum measurement using a technique called the adaptive design of experiments.
