We report a case of a bite wound of the tongue due to Gilles de la Tourette's syndrome. The patient was an 11-year-old boy complaining of pain of the tongue and of eating disorder. The patient was referred to us for treatment. A severe wound with a defect of the left and left-front side of the tongue was found and was thought to be a bite wound by self-mutilation. Oral splints for both the upper and lower jaws were applied for the patient effectively. In this case, it was suggested that the special oral splints for both jaws prevented oral mutilation and led to the wound healing.
