To evaluate the fatigue resistance of the RC slab of the former Choshi Ohashi Bridge that has been in service for 47 years, the authors conducted a fatigue test under running wheel loading on the following test specimens: the RC slab with the bottom reinforced with the CFSS; the RC slab with the top reinforced with the SFRC; and the RC slab with the top reinforced with the SFRC and with the bottom reinforced with the CFSS. In contrast, the fatigue resistance of the RC slab with the top reinforced with concrete in 2007 and with the bottom reinforced with the CFSS, the RC slab with the top reinforced with the SFRC, and the RC slab with the top reinforced with the SFRC and with the bottom reinforced with the CFSS increased by a factor of 31, 55 and 149, respectively.
