We have developed the integrated structure of existing railway steel girder, abutment and earthfill, which can improve aseismic capacity of structure and load carrying capacity of steel girder, and reduce the maintenance costs for girder supports. On the other hand, thermal deformation and stress are increased by connecting rigidly girder to abutment, and this thermal impact can be one of the dominant factors to design the integrated structure. In this study, the thermal responces were grasped by monitoring the full-scale integrated structure which was constructed in our institute, and attemped to verify the design method.
