The aim of this study is to figure out an effect of chrolide on film performance with on-site painting of steel road bridges. A trial painting of an actual-size steel girder was conducted under high-salinity environment in order to investigate the amount of deposited chrolide on the coated surface between the painting processes. In addition, we examined delamination strength and dulability of the coating system which was intentionally-attached chrolide between the film layers in laboratory experiments. As the results, it was shown that more than 150-200 mg/m2 of chrolide can reduce the interlayer adhesion strengh and deteriorate early protective performance of the coating system.
