This paper presents a comprehensive examination of shear capacity of RC beams subjected to frost damage. Available test data of 41 RC beams failing in shear after freeze-thaw exposure were evaluated by iterative analysis using upper bound theorem, and the evaluation showed that close agreement was observed between the experimental and predicted shear strength. The computational assessment based on the developed analysis was then conducted to examine the effects of damaged zones: compression or tension side of RC beams, its depth, and shear reinforcement ratio on the shear strength. Results demonstrated that the damage distribution considerably influenced the angles of inclination and concrete contribution to shear strength.
