Abstract

The expansion joints are required to have high safety and durability to vehicle loads and environmental effects. The deformed bar stud, which is the anchor member of expansion joints, has been designed with allowable stress against shearing force in Japan. However, the allowable value is uncertain about the safety for yielding and destruction. Therefore, we carried out the static push-out test for the deformed bar stud with ultra-rapid hardening concrete. From the comparison between the test results and the design value, it was found that the maximum shear strength of deformed bar stud has a sufficient margin for the design value.
