When reinforced concrete (RC) beams are impacted directly due to dropping a steel weight, the impacted area of the beam is severely damaged and the area reaches the ultimate state earlier. The impact resistant capacity of the beams may be increased by flattening the high intensity impact force. In this paper, proposing a cushion rubber setting method on the im-pacted area, the impact resistant behavior of the rubber set RC beams strengthened in flexure with bonding AFRP sheet was investigated conducting drop-weight impact test loading. The results obtained from this study are: applying the proposed method, the impact force can be significantly decreased and flattened and the impact resistant capacity of the beams can be increased; and debonding of the AFRP sheet can be effectively restrained, etc.
