In the construction of bridges over an intersection, precast concrete embedded formwork has been adopted in order to eliminate restrictions such as working space and to shorten the construction period. Precast Concrete Formwork (PCF) is a parapet wall construction method in which panels are fabricated at factory, installed as embedded forms of the parapet wall and formed by casting in place concrete. This report presents a comprehensive analysis of the performance of the PCF and its support structures for application to bridges with concrete girders through a comparison of results from a full-scale experiment and finite element analysis assuming actual site construction scenarios. From the results, the construction challenges and panel behaviors were generally understood that led to identification of improvements points for the actual construction.
