Scissors structure (SCI) are deployable mechanisms with cyclic symmetry and are used in a wide range of applications due to their excellent functionality and transportability. However, the stresses and displacements of SCI components tend to be large, and SCI must be designed to meet these constraints. The objective of this study is to derive the optimal topology of SCI, a deployable structure, through topology optimization using SCI-FEM. As an optimization method, the optimality criterion method (OC method), which is useful in homogenization and SIMP methods, is employed. In addition, the Simulated Annealing (SA) method is used to perform extensive searches when there are multiple minima in the objective function.
