Date of correction: February 29, 2008 Reason for correction: - Correction: ABSTRACT Details: Wrong : Pectenoloe, diatoxanthin, pectenoxanthin mytiloxanthin, and a new carotenoid were isolated from the muscle tissue of Japanese sea mussels, Mytilus coruscus.
The structure of the new carotenoid has been established as 3, 4, 3′-trihydroxy-7′, 8′-didehydro-β-carotene, by chemical and phusical methods including PMR, IR, and mass spectra.
This is the first example of monoacetylenic triol in nature.
Right : Pectenoloe, diatoxanthin, pectenoxanthin mytiloxanthin, and a new carotenoid were isolated from the muscle tissue of Japanese sea mussels, Mytilus coruscus.
