Abstract
We attempted electrolysis by ion exchange membrane to get NaoH and Cl2 from sea water. Cation exchange membranes carries cation and anion one carries anion. We can get NaOH with out CI on SO4"by this property. We measured current efficiency for NaOH and Cl2 as follows.
1) 2- Compartment method
2) Quick silver method
3) Quiek silver method with saturated salt salution.
4) 3- Conpartment method by use of anion and cation exchange membrane.
membranes properties were cornpared by diffusion, and current directions.
