Interstitial microwave brain hyperthermia was reviewed with several comments on the implantable microwave antenna and treatment planning. Results of the phase-I clinical trials were briefly summarized. Further Studies would be necessory to develop the system for controlling the individual antenna power independently by the each thermometry information, to accumulate the basic data for planning and simulation of the treatment, and to make the clinical protocol for combination therapy of hyperthermia and radiation and/or chemotherapy.
