On the Effect of the Drugs of the Caffeine Group upon the Rate of Epinephrine Discharge from the Suprarenal Glands of Dogs

Abstract

When caffeine, diuretine and theophyllinum natrioaceticum were introduced intravenously in a sufficient dose, a definite acceleration of epinephrine discharge was observed in the etherized dog provided with the cava pocket. A remarkable acceleration was detected in a few cases. After splanchnectomy the acceleration failed to occur.
