Histochemical study in the abalone retina revealed that AChE is localized in the plexiform layer which consists of axons of visual cells. It is postulated that the inhibitory interaction in the retina is mediated by the choliner-gic transmitter in the plexiform layer.
About this Journal The Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine (TJEM) was founded in 1920
by professors of Tohoku Imperial University, Medical School.
