Abstract
Being led by a recent paper noting non-glycaemic action of the piqûre diabétique in the rabbit deprived of the suprarenal glands, the piqûre was tried in normal rabbits, and those indefinitely surviving either double medulli-suprarenalectomy or double suprarenalectomy.
The latter both can respond against the piqûre with some increase in the blood sugar content, but its scale and duration are far less than in the normal rabbits. The rôle playedby the suprarenals or suprarenal medulla in bringing about the blood sugar increase on the piqûre diabétique is far greater than that by the glycogenolytic impulse running without intermediation of the suprarenals; quantitatively a different feature from the case of dogs.
