我々は解剖学・生理学的にヒトとの類似性点が多いミニブタ、中でも超小型のマイクロミニピッグに着目し、この動物の誕生とほぼ同時に、実験動物としての開発に取り組み、背景データの構築、毒性病理評価モデル・ヒト病態モデルの開発、発生工学をメインテーマに研究してきた。本発表では毒性病理の視点から、これまでの研究成果や知見を紹介する。また、ミニブタに関する国際毒性病理用語・診断基準統一化推進委員会の取り組みについても紹介する。
Swine provide reliable experimental animal models because of their physiological and anatomical similarities to humans. The Microminipig is a novel breed of minipig. We have studied formulation of background data, development of toxicologic pathology test model and human disease model, developmental engineering in Microminipigs. In this presentation, we review our results as toxicologic pathology in Microminipigs. In addition, we present the International Harmonization of Nomenclature and Diagnostic Criteria (INHAND)-Non-rodent working group (NRWG) -Minipig.
