Strategy and view of creating trans-Asian transport network

Abstract

Dramatic changes in international trades were analyzed to identify recent development of Asian manufacturing network and interdependency among Asian countries in this regard. Current situation of Asian transport network was also reviewed, focusing on road and railway sectors, in terms of both supply side and demand side for discussing possible future needs to further invest in soft infrastructures and hard infrastructures in the context of creating trans-Asian seamless transport network. Finally possible actions to be taken by parties concern were recommended for developing Asian common transport policy.
