Abstract

Recently, despite on overall decline in the automobile traffic fatalities, a number of serious traffic accidents caused by commercial vehicles such as bus or truck have been occurring. Problems such as labor circumstances or the subcontract structure of the vehicle driver are pointed out in the background. This paper focuses on how the multiple subcontracting structures affect the safe driving. In addition, we aim to obtain suggestions for the improvement of the multiple subcontractors by comparing with South Korean trucking industry, which has similarity with Japan to a certain extent.
