Development of PHS Traffic Survey System for Human Travel Behaviour

Abstract

Recently, there are many application development by using IT and ITS for traffic surveys because of necessity of detailed transportation policy evaluation. The purpose of this paper is to develop the data collecting system for human travel behavior in urban area. The developed system consists of Personal Handy Phone System and Computer Integrated Server. The functions of tracking and location information are used for positioning, and test subject's travel behaviors are estimated by using GIS. As the demonstration, developed system was applied in Tokyo urban area and Sapporo city. Finally, actuation of the developed system and it effect for collecting travel behaviour were confirmed.
