The NAHA airport and the tax advantage in OKINAWA district

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the relation between the tax advantage in OKINAWA district and the number of flight at NAHA airport. In 1997, there is the airport related big tax change （advantage）in OKINAWA district：landing fee, charge for flight information, and petroleum oil tax. We observe that the 1997's tax change certainly affected the increasing number of flight at NAHA airport, especially about routing HANEDA-NAHA.
