Abstract
As one of the initial proposers of the TRAFST (Transdisciplinary Federation of Science
and Technology), I recall how the notion of the TRAFST was born and developed in the last decade.
Some episodes are noted first that led to the establishment of the TRAFST. Fundamental notions that
played important roles in my process of thinking are explained, that include “Applied engineering
versus pure engineering,” “Third scientific revolution,” and “Science for design.”
