Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to investigate what kind of social relationship is built in Filipino ethnic church and to clarify the difference of value attitude for ‘entertainer’ in Filipino community by participant observation research and some interviews. As a result, I found that those who had the job experience of ‘entertainer’ in the past had no difficulties in participating in Filipino ethnic church. On the other hand, however, those who continued working in night club or pub after the Great East Japan Earthquake had difficulties in participating in Filipino ethnic church. This is because they were stereotyped negatively by other Filipino women. In a sense, the difference of value attitude for ‘entertainer’ made it difficult for Filipino women to make solidarity. Therefore, the process of secularization in Filipino ethnic church was constructed by a boundary connected with this value attitude for ‘entertainer’.
