HDTV Noise Reduction Method using Adaptive Dead-zone

Abstract

A reduction method for in-band noise of HDTV is proposed and simulated. The threshold of dead-zone which is excluded from image spectrum is adaptively decided from the average power of 8x8 block based image itself. The simulation results show obvious reduction of noise without degradation of the image itself.
