Simulation of Bronchoscopy

Abstract

In this paper we introduce a virtualized bronchoscopy system. Using bronchus area extracted from a three dimensional chest X-ray CT image, this system enables to observe and navigate inside and outside the bronchus from arbitrary viewpoint and view direction. We can also measure a variety of shape features of the bronchus by interactive operation through a graphical user interface of this system.
