In-vehicle navigation system is a kind of information processing product. Those who have experienced it must be impressed with software technique of assisting human intelligent activity such as first driving visit to the golf course or re-route finding via road map display in case of traffic jam situation. Navigation means map image information software application featured by map information real-time processing in use of the in-vehicle computer & display in order to assist a driver's intelligent activity for moving the vehicle to the destination with current positioning and route planning. The author describes application of image processing technique for the in-vehicle navigation system at first, then application of image data communication technique for the information terminal : MIUT.
