This research focuses on the 47 group type nursery rooms in Nagoya-city,a nd the objective of this research is 1) to grasp the actual nursery space created by renovations,2) to understand its uniqueness, and 3) to acquire understandings of how to improve building the space for smaller-scale nursery facilities. The uniqueness and relations of the space usage and grouping nursery activities were investigated for the existing stock spaces.
-Before reforming to nursery facilities,a bout 90% of the original usage of the 10 children enrollment were dwelling units, and many of the original functions were conserved and re-used in this case.Fifty percent of the 15 children enrollment were officesshops and large scale reforming was required in this case.
-Most of the 15 children enrollment nurseries divide children into groups for nursery,a nd two rooms having the main daylighting were utilized for the group activities, but many had lunch together or nap together in one group.
