The purpose of this study is to investigate the actual use, evaluation of common court by Makuhari Bay Town Patios' dwellers and to analyze the public sense of common court. There are tow types of court in Makuhari Bay Town Patios; Opened Court and Closed Court. 1 Bangai (Block 1) has Opened Court and from 2 (Block 2) to 6 Bangai (Block 6) has Closed Court. Dwellers have not been lived in housing with common court long. Questionnairing was conducted on the dwellers as research method.
The purpose of using common court is mainly to pass the court. Concerning of evaluation sense of court, dwellers has satisfaction and good sense. Tow-third of dwellers evaluate the Opened Court highly.
We make it clear that there are two opposition;(1) between public and sense of safety,(2) between public and private. The opposition (1) is reduced by the device of architectural planning and management. To dissolve the opposition (2), it is necessary that we deepen our thinking about public. Further, developers make the opened court by thinking the relationship between block and city. Then dwellers can pile up experiences that live in housing with opened court.
