Abstract
The city of Ulaanbaatar used to have total population of 780.9 thousand in 2000, and its population has increased up to 1.2millions in 2007. 85% of the migrated people from other rural areas mostly reside in sub urban ger areas of the city. Thus, the ger areas of Ulaanbaatar are expanding and growing. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the problems and contradictions existing in the housing policy of the UB city government in the case of the Ger area.
