Abstract
Veterinary nurses' records are important items for veterinary nursing. In the present study, we audited the nursing-care plans and the progress notes of 20 patients which had been hospitalized in our Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, from August through December, 2011, using our original audit details, two times. After the first audit, we discussed the audit results, modified some forms used for records and distributed information materials to the staff. The second audit results indicated that writing styles and specificity of the nursing-care plans had been improved. However, sets of nursing goals and coincidence of plans and records had not been improved. Quality of nursing must be enriched to give the patient animals better care, so it is necessary to examine how best one can improve the quality of veterinary nursing.
