Abstract
For the purpose of establishing the origin of the alkaline phosphatase of serum in rickets, the correlation of its activity of serum to that of bone, small intestine and kidney of albino rats is analyzed statistically. As the activity of total serum is extremely low as compared with that of several organs, it is difficult to establish exactly its origin, but there is the significant correlation between serum and bone in regard to the alkaline phosphatase. Moreover, bone has the highest activity as well as small intestine, so it seems that the large portion of the alkaline phosphatase of serum in rickets is supplied from bone. On the other hand, small intestine may play a certain role, because in severe rickets serum correlates to bone plus small intestine better than to bone alone.
