STUDIES ON THE α-LIPOIC ACID METABOLISM IN SEVERAL DISEASES : (II) THE URINARY EXCRETION AND SERUM LEVEL OF α-LIPOIC ACID IN PATIENTS OF SEVERAL DISEASES
Estimation of α-lipoic acid in urine and serum of patients of liver diseases, diabetes mellitus and polyneuritis was carried out The α-lipoic acid levels were low as compared with those of the normal subject, especially in patients of liver cirrhosis. This result indicates that there may be α-lipoic acid depletion in patients of liver cirrhosis.
