Abstract
Experimental studies were made on the change of hepatic enzyme activity in tryptophan metabolism of riboflavin deficient rats, and the pyridoxal phosphate content was determied. The enzymic activity in the liver of riboflavin deficinet rats was decreased remarkably in tryptophan pyrrolase, kynurenine oxygenase and kynurenine transaminase, and slightly kynureninase. On the other hand, the pyridoxal phosphate content in the liver was decreased by 30 percent in the riboflavin deficient rats compared with that of normal rats.
