INVESTIGATION ON GROWTH STIMULATING FACTOR FOR ANIMAL IN MYCELIUM OF ASPERGILLUS ORYZAE : (IV) EFFECT OF MYCELIUM ADDED TO SYNTHETIC DIETS ON GROWTH OF RATS

Abstract

A growth stimulating effect on the rat observed previously by the addition of mycelium of Aspergillus oryzae to a natural diet was not only detected, but also a growth inhibition occurred when the mycelium was given to the animal mixed with synthetic diets containing purified casein, corn starch or sucrose, oils, salts and vitamins.
