The structure of neoxanthin C isolated from spinach leaves was discussed on chemical, UV, IR, NMR, and mass spectrometric data. Neoxanthin C is a peripheral unhindered monocis form of the neoxanthin set and the gross structure of "neoxanthin" proposed by Weedon and Chichester et al. was strongly supported.
