Abstract
The influences of the administration of folic acid on the glomerular filtration rate were observed on three healthy persons and 18 renal and hepatic patients. Thirty mg of folic acid had no effect on healthy persons. No effect was also found in petients who had a normal rate of glomerular filtration. In the patients whose glomerular filtration had been lowered, a similar administration resulted in a marked rise. This result was more pronounced as the dose was raised.
