Abstract
1. Determination by the iodine method of vitamin C preparations may cause serious error in the estimation of ascorbic acid. 2. The indophnol methd and modified method by Levy (Biochem. J. 36,196 1942) give good results for these preparations. 3. For estimating ascorbic acid in preparations and foods containing a great deal of SO_2,Levy method is superior to the indophenol method. 4. A modification of Levy method was suggested for the determination of vitamin C in remedies manufactured in Japan.
