Thiamine, riboflavin and ascorbic acid present in multivitamin preparations are known to inhibit the Gibbs' reaction in the chemical determination of vitamin B_6 in the preparations. The practical assay procedure was decided after the investigation of the method for removing the inhibitors by silver nitrate solution.
