Investigations on the seasonal variation of vitamin B_<12> content in activated sludge showed that there seemed to be an optimum temperature for the growth of the microorganisms participating in the production of vitamin B_<12> in activated sludge, since the vitamin B_<12> content was highest in the activated sludge sampled in autumn followed by the spring sample and lowest in the sample obtained in winter and summer.
