Japanese Kana Character Input Interface using Scroll-Wheel

Abstract

This study presents a method of kana character input using a scroll wheel, aiming to achieve both a small control unit, one-handed operation, and simplicity of operation in character input. The proposed method exclusively relies on the scroll wheel of a mouse for selecting and confirming input characters through rotation and pressing actions. The scroll wheel is rotated and pressed to select and confirm input characters, respectively.
