抄録

The ultimate strength of transverse member on the large tankes were studied by testing three models of wing tank transverse rings and one whole cargo oil tank model. We found the collapse were caused by buckling of face plate on web plate. These critical buckling values were smaller than calculated volues on account of residual stress of welding.
