Active vibration control gets much attention in many fields of industry. This paper presents the development of an active vibration control equipment for ship and engine structure which is a multi degrees of freedom vibration system and has the complicated vibration characteristics. In designing the controller of this equipment, output feedback control and optimal feedback control are adopted. Model tests and corresponding simulate calculation are carried out to confirm the control theory and the efficiency of vibration control. The obtained conclusions are as follows. (1) Active vibration control is available for ship and engine structure which is a multi degrees of freedom vibration system. (2) The efficiency of output feedback contorl and optimal feedback control is verified. (3) Reasonability of the investigation with the simulate calculation is confirmed.
