Abstract
The nickel(II) complex [NiH(ide)H2(ide)]BPh4·3CH3OH (H2(ide) = 2,2′-iminodiethanol) was prepared, and characterized by a single-crystal X-ray method. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group, P21/n and Z = 4, with cell parameters of a = 12.5322(3)Å, b = 17.3577(4)Å, c = 16.1681(4)Å, β = 97.112(7)°, V = 3490.00(14)Å3. In the complex cation, H2(ide) and H(ide)- worked as tridentate ligands in the fac-forms, coordinating to the central nickel(II) ion; the amino nitrogen atoms are at the cis-positions. In the crystal, the nickel(II) complexes are dimerized through hydrogen bonds.
