Crystal Structure of the cis-Bis(3-tert-butyl-o-diiminobenzosemiquinonato)platinum(II) Complex

Abstract

A square-planar platinum(II) complex, cis-bis(3-tert-butyl-o-diiminobenzosemiquinonato)platinum(II), was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystalizes in the monoclinic space group P2₁/n and Z = 4 with the following cell parameters: a = 19.748(2)Å, b = 5.9608(7)Å, c = 22.948(3)Å, β = 113.4550(10)°, V = 2478.2(5)ų. The aromatic ring of the ligand is distorted into two shorter and four longer C–C bonds, which are representative of a o-diiminobenzosemiquinonate radical ligand.
