Synthesis and Crystal Structure of (μ-Acetato)bis(μ-Alkoxo)dicobalt(II, III) Complex with an Unsymmetric Dinucleating Ligand

The structure of the dinuclear Co(II, III) mixed-valence complex [Co^IICo^III(tpdb)(CH₃CO₂)(CH₃O)](ClO₄)₂·​0.75CH₃OH·0.25CH₃CN (1) was determined by X-ray crystallography, where tpdb is N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,4-diamino-2-butanolate. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group, P2₁/c, with a = 10.4372(4), b = 27.8578(10), c = 13.5496(5)Å, β = 102.8116(10), Z = 4, V = 3841.6(2)ų. The R1 [I > 2σ(I)] and wR2 (all data) values are 0.0398 and 0.1035, respectively, for all 6799 independent reflections. The complex has a (μ-acetato)bis(μ-alkoxo)dicobalt(II, III) core structure.
