Synthesis of β-Hydroxy-valine. (Part 3)

Abstract

α-Bromo-β-hydroxyisovaleric acid was synthesized by the application of AcOH-Hg method to β, β-dimethylacrylic acid in water. Amination of this compound easily gave β-hydroxy valine.
